PROJECT 245 : SOME KEY ACHIEVEMENTS

Three workshops have been organised within the COST project 245.

The subject of the first one, held in Saint Gall, Switzerland, was a survey of CAD tools for antenna design and included a trip to the Säntis Station (fig. 21).

The second one has been dedicated to MMIC TECHNOLOGIES applied to active antennas. With participation by representatives from all European key foundries, requirements and new processes have been presented and discussed at this very successul workshop.

The third workshop, organised jointly with ESA-ESTEC, has allowed the project participants and some key outside specialist to present and discuss the results of their work.

Fig. 22 shows a view of the conference room in ESTEC where the ESA Workshop on Active Antennas (27-28 June 1996) was hold.
